I brought my daughter in for a silk press, and afterward her hair experienced severe breakage and damage. I took her to a natural hair salon and the hairdresser said the extent of her hair damage is definitely from chemicals and not just heat damage! I’m extremely upset because I was never informed about any chemicals or products being used beyond standard heat styling. If chemical products were applied without my knowledge or consent, that is completely unacceptable. I’d like an explanation of exactly what was used on her hair.

Did a silk press here and while it looked nice, it damaged my hair. I don’t believe the stylist used proper measures to ensure the health of my hair was protected. My hair smell burnt even after for 2 months. Would not recommend for natural hair, especially type 4. The stylist also used a paddle brush to detangle and had no problems pulling wet hair. They didn’t have a proper detangling brush, didn’t use proper heat protection methods and might not be used to this type of hair. My hair is now thinner and all my curls are gone. Another big chop is inevitable.

I brought my teenage daughter here September 2025 for a wash and blow dry. Before my daughter even sat in the chair I explained that my daughter's hair was natural, never had any chemicals and was thick and curly. I asked if the stylist would be able to do the service. She said yes, no problem. When it came time to blow dry, she sprayed what I assumed was conditioning spray before she began. It became clear she either did not know how to manage 4C hair or didn't have the patience. The stylist brushed through my child's hair without detangling or even sectioning the hair. We left with my daughter in tears and her scalp red and burning. Upon her next wash with her regular stylist, it was made known to me that chemicals were put in her hair (without my knowledge or consent) causing damage along with heat damage. We are now in March and obviously still working on correcting the damage. I thought hard about what to do over these months; report this business to the BBB, or contact a lawyer. I really dont want to financially affect a minority and woman owned business but I absolutely want others to know what they are walking into so decided to leave this review for now.
